(Peb United Pbess Association.) WELLINGTON, February 22. The sale of the dredge Whakarire to the Napier Harbour Board for £10,500 was reported at a meeting of the Wellington Harbour Board. The chief executive officer of the Wellington Harbour Board is to make inquiries from.the other principal boards concerning wages and conditions of permanent employees for the purpose of comparison. The board reached this decision after Mr Chapman had drawn attention to the report that the Nelson Board proposed restoring the wages cut to its employees. The chairman (Mr Turrell) stated that negotiations were already being carried out in regard to casual workers.
