Sib, — We agree with a previous correspondent that Dunedin stands second to none in New Zealand for local talent. This is a recognised fact. Unfortunately, there are many artists who have not yet had an opportunity of being heard over the air. This matter was discussed at a meeting of the 4ZM Listeners’ Club Executive, and it was suggested and approved that invitations be extended to artists to perform from this station, and a Test Committee was set up for this purpose. For some weeks past we have had local broadcasting from 4ZM, and many coinplimentary remarks have been received; As there is no honorarium attached for such purposes, no suspicion of favouritism could be suggested. Listeners would then have an opportunity of deciding for themselves who are the most suitable performers, and no doubt such artists would receive fair consideration from the manager of the 4YA station, —We are etc., 4ZM.
