BRITISH ART

EXHIBITION ARRANGED A REMARKABLE COLLECTION. LONDON, November 2. (Received Nov. 2, at 9 p.m.) An exhibition of British art, which will be opened at Burlington House on January 6, will be the most remarkable collection of national pictures, sculpture, tapestry, and objects of art ever assembled. The exhibits will be insured for at least £2,000,000. The King is lending generously from the royal collections, American and other foreign collectors are co-operating, while cathedrals are sending the choicest and rarest examples of mediaeval ecclesiastical art. The treasures are so numerous that no artist later than 1860 will be included.
