DAYLIGHT- SAVING
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, —The subject of daylight saving has been about dropped by farmers. They simply ignore summer-time altogether and work what time suits themselves. There is no law to make a man get up in the morning if- he does not want to do §o. The farmer’s employees like daylight saving, not because they have anything to do in the evening, but because it is often too stormy for them to go out early, and when they are kept back by inclement weather in the morning they have a nice short day. I am 'replying to the local in Thursday’s Daily Times which referred to a farmer keeping his clock fast. If my clock was fast before summer-time started, I would still put it on the halfhour. The reason for having it fast at all is to make sure of being in time for everything, and that would not be possible if one did not shift one’s clock with the rest. —I am, etc., Farmer.
