LAUDER GUN CLUB
The annual shoot for the Bodkin Shield was held on the Lauder grounds. Only two teams—Moa Creek and Lauder— competed, but the shooting was of the highest standard. The teams tied with 87 birds each out of a possible of 90, and had to shoot off to decide the winner, Lauder being successful for the fifth time in succession. Eor Mr O’Brien’s and Mr J. B. Hislop’e trophies Mr C. Drake and Mr A. Brown also put up excellent shooting. Mr Drake had to shoot his last seven birds off 27 yatds, and Mr Brown had to shoot his last six off 26 yards.
