The vessels will carry • two four-inch guns as well as quick-firing- > guns. With a speed of over 16 knots, the new sloops will be very much faster than the vessels they are to replace. Their machinery comprises Parsons’ impulse reaction turbines, with single reduction gearing There are two three-drum water tube boilers with a pressure of 2501 b. Each vessel will be fitted with twin propellers. The fuel oil tanks in the new sloops will accommodate 275 tone of oil.
