PALMERSTON NOTES
(From Our Own Correspondent.) , PALMERSTON, November 2. LAWN TENNIS. The Tawn tennis season locally is now in full swing, and large numbers of players are on thi courts every afternoon and evening. Ladder matches have also been commenced, and N. D. Murray last night successfully defended fifth place on the men’s ladder, defeating A. M. Cochrane by 9 games to G. OLD TIME DANCE. A large crowd, including many visitors from Palmerston, * attended an old time dance in the Goodwood Hall last night. Mr C. M'Callum was M.C. and Ellison’s Dance Band supplied the music. During the evening the Misses P. and B. Cullen danced the Highland fling, and songs were rendered by Miss E. Brown, with Miss N. Maggin at the piano. The lucky spot waltz was won by Miss M. Philip and Mr L. Bell and the Monte Carlo waltz by Miss P. Cullen and partner.
