BULLER BY-ELECTION
UNOFFICIAL LABOUR CANDIDATE AN UNLIKELY EVENTUALITY. (From Oub Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, November 1. "I do not think will be any unofficial Labour candidate for Duller," said Mr Savage, Leader of the Opposition, to-day when a repprt that a section of the miners had decided to nominate Mr M'Lagan in opposition to Mr Webb was referred to him. “If such a candidate does come forward he won’t cut much ice; he won’t affect the result,” _ said Mr Savage. « Everywhere the miners have been noted for their loyalty to the official Labour movement.” He quoted the_ result of the Bulli by-election as an illustration of the fact that even a very powerful candidate individually could not hope to defeat a man who had the official support of the party.
