THE BUILDING SUBSIDY
APPLICATIONS EXCEED FIVE MILLIONS. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 31. The Unemployment' Hoard states that at October 2S the total number of applications for the building subsidy received and examined was 11,521. leaving 200 still under consideration. The total value of work approved to date was £4,899,510, but as the value of the works declined (because they would have gone on without the subsidy) was £288,484, the total value of all the applications was £5,187,994.
