The Rev. Father Harrington, of South Dunedin parish, left yesterday morning on a visit- to the north. Mr Nelson Jones, manager of the National Electrical Company, left yesterday morning for Wellington. Dr A. S. Moody returned to Dunedin yesterday afternoon from a short visit to Australia. ' Mr D. G. Mowat left on a visit to Foxton by the mid-day express yesterday. Mr Jack Tapley left on a trip to Sydney by the mid-day express yesterday. Mr Arthur Craig (Greenfield) was a passenger by the through express yesterday for Christchurch, where he will attend the meeting of the Electoral Committee of the Wheat Marketing Board.

Our London correspondent reports that Pilot-officer G. I E. Macdonald, R.A.F. (Timaru), has been posted to No. 41 (F) Squadron, Northolt. Mr Harman Reeves was a passenger by the through express yesterday en route to Wellington, where he will attend a meeting of the Stock Brokers’ Association of New Zealand. Mr T. H. Watson was a passenger from Invercargill to Christchurch by the through express yesterday. Mr L. Coker, of the Department of Agriculture, who has been in Dunedin superintending the grading of 'eggs for export, left on his return to Wellington by the through express yesterday. Mrs Marshall Macdonald, Mrs M. J. Forde; and Miss Carnachan, members of the Unemployment Advisory Board, returned north by ithe through express yesterday. Mr Roland Ellis, of the firm of Messrs Arthur Ellis and Co., left on a visit to Auckland by the mid-day express yesterday. Mr W. Patrick, manager of the Christchurch branch of the firm, also went north by the express. Two further recommendations for the award of prizes in the University have been submitted to the council —viz., the Law Society’s prize in criminal law. L. F. Moller; the Law Society’s prize in company law and the law of bankruptcy, H. M. Smith. The name of C. W. S. Moore w r as inadvertently omitted from the published list of students who obtained terms in constitutional history.
