MOSGIEL MUNICIPAL BAND
At last night’s practice many items in connection with the jubilee celebrations of the Mosgiel Municipal Band .wore completed. Amongst letters received from ex-members were some that did not reach the secretary in time for the re-union, but the reading of them to members showed the interest the writers still maintained in the Mosgiel Band. The following letter from Mr F. W. G. M'Leod, of New Plymouth, was of special interest: —“Had I been within striking distance of Mosgiel, you can be certain I would have, been present at your re-union,, if only for the memory of my late father’s connection with the original factory band. Who knows but what the old band may have been responsible for instilling into my own youthful mind musical dreams and aspirations. I like the way you have outlined your celebrations —cantering for the sentimental as well as for the festive atmosphere. A little auburn-haired lad who used to sit on the grass with open mouth and marvel at the playing of the old band wishes you every success iu the future.”
