FIREPROOF AEROPLANE

A BELGIAN’S INVENTION DEMONSTRATION IN ENGLAND. LONDON, September 26. Major Van Rolleghem, a well-known and highly decorated Belgian aviator, is coming to England to demonstrate his fireproof aeroplane. The major states: “ I get into a model cockpit, close myself in, light the petrol supply until a heat of 1200 deg is obtained, and sit in this furnace, unroasted, for 20 to 30 minutes until the fire is out. When I open the cockpit it will be undamaged, and I am not even warm.” Experts who have seen successful demonstrations at Brussels believe that Major Van Rolleghem’s invention may remove the danger of fire in the air.
