- —■—- (From Oor Own Correspondent.) BALCLUTHA, September 26. . RUGBY SUB-UNION. At a meeting of the Management Committee of the South Otago Rugby Football Sub-union the financial position was considered. The statement submitted by the secretary showed total receipts, including £6O subscribed by the clubs’ insurance, at £212 5s 4d. Gate receipts, with the exception of those at Balelutha, showed a slight increase compared with the previous year. The Balelutha re- . ceipts were down about 50 per cent. The insurance fund stood at £127, and it was decided to pay out on the same basis as last year, £72 in claims being passed for payment. It had been a bad season for accidents, and some of the claims were for the limit of £9. The receipt from clubs had been practically sufficient to meet tho claims, leaving the £SO sub-, sidy from the union untouched. The usual 30 per cent, on gate receipts for senior clubs and' 50 per cent, to second grade was passed. It was stated that the general account for the season would show a slight debit, but that the position on the whole was satisfactory. KAITANGATA DAIRY COMPANY. The balance sheet submitted at the annual meeting of suppliers of the Kaitangata Dairy Company on Saturday night showed that the company had had a fairly successful year, notwithstanding the low prices ruling, and there was a balance to profit and loss of £339 2s 7d. The sum of £4397 had been paid out for milk purchased. Cheese sales amounted to £6240' and sales of whey cream to £125 6s 4d. The quantity of cheese manufactured during the season was 317,7441 b. The opinion was expressed that with cheese on the up grade on the Home market the current season would be much more profitable for suplpiers.
