The Waitaki Hydro carnival and tug-of-war was continued on Friday and Saturday evenings with the following reSU Friday.-Y.M.C.A. A defeated Kurow by *in (Boys' Heavy-weight); Haka de. feated Nonpareil by 6in (Senior); Hydro defeated Y.M.C.AB by Uin (Boys Heavy-weight); Y.M.C.A. drew with Kurow (Bantam); Bains'. Fireworks drew with Argonauts (Senior); Frothblowers defeated Kurow by 6in (Senior). Saturday.—Bellringers defeated Blue Hole" by 4in; Bellringers defeated Loafers by 3in; Frothblowers, jun. defeated Argonauts, jun. by 3in; Argonauts defeated Haka by iin; Frothblowers defeated Nonpareil by 6in; Haka defeated Frothblowers by lin; Anchors defeated the Bellringers by 4in; Frothblowers defeated the Anchors by 2in; Team Captains v. Committee, dead heat;, Argonauts beat Haka. Argonauts gained the advantage, but Haka quickly recovered and drew level, and changing position again gave Argonauts a slight advantage, which was quickly recovered, the teams being level for a moment, and in the last few seconds Argonauts secured a lead and won by one inch. DEFENCE RIFLE SHOOTING. The following are the results of the Championship Match fired off at the weekly shoot of the Y.M.C.A. Hydro Defence Rifle Club on Saturday afternoon when the light was dull, with visibility hazy, and an easterly wind prevailed:—
