OUTRAGE IN BELFAST
FATHER AND SON FIRED AT A FORTUNATE ESCAPE. LONDON, September 22. (Received Sept. 24, at 5.5 p.m.) Three men fired five shots at a man named Newall and his son James at Belfast, and then escaped in a motor car driven by a woman. The father's macintosh was pierced in two places yet he escaped injury. Last year two armed men raided NewalFs house and refused to recognise a sentence of 18 months (passed by the Antrim- Court as they were soldiers of the Irish Republican Army.
