BIG DIAMONDS FOUND

ON BRAZILIAN FIELD NEW YORK, September 22. The New York Times's correspondent at Rio de Janeiro says: "A prospector in the upper waters of the Saobento River, in the State of Minas Geraes, to-day reported finding a diamond of 540 grams—over 2000 carats —valued at 800,000 dollars. It is believed to be the second largest diamond recorded. "Six other large stones—one of 400 carats —were also found, of a total value of £1,000,000." '
