CONTRACT FOR MOTOR SHIPS CARRIAGE OF FROZEN CARGOES. (Pes United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, September 23. The Federal Steam; Navigation Company, Ltd., announces that it has con* tracted with Messrs Workman, Clark, and Co., shipbuilders, of Belfast, for two . motor ships of a length of 490 feet between perpendiculars and a beam of 68 feet. The gross tonnage will be about 11,000, the refrigerated space will amount to 460,000 cubic feet, and the speed will be about 16 knots per hour. The propelling machinery will be Sultzer engines, / built by Messrs Workman, Clark, and Co. Delivery of the ships is to be given in the autumn of 1954.
