THE JAPANESE ARMY
STATEMENT BY WAR OFFICE TOKIO, September 22. (Received Sept. 23, at 0.30 a.m.) The War Office denies the report that it intends to re-create four divisions, but it states that it proposes to improve the equipment and increase the mechanisation and efficiency of the army, especially in view of obligations in connection with the defence of Manchukuo.
