DEATH OF MRS BESANT
THE REMAINS CREMATED HINDU RITES OBSERVED. CALCUTTA, September 21. The flags of 54- nations, as a symbol of her world leadership, encircled the bier at the cremation with Hindu rites of the remains of Mrs Annie Besant. Over 20,000 people walked in the procession, chanting a funeral dirge. All religions were represented.
