MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING
On Tuesday last at the Drill Hall the Ladies* National Reserve M.R.C. held the weekly practice shoot. The following qualified for the Handicap Button: Mrs J. Bradley, Misses J. Cook, S. M'Fadgen, D. Wood. Mrs J. Bradley won the button and Miss N. Rowntree won the rifle badge for highest score, ( On Thursday night the Ladies National Reserve No. 1 team met Speight’s team at the Speight’s range, and fired a match for the B Grade series. After the match the ladies were entertained at supper and fired a match with the club on the air pistol, both teams' putting up excellent scores. Results:— , „ L.N.R. No. I.—Misses P. Rowntree 79, M. Bird 73, W. Hunt 09, L. Croot 70; total, 510. The Returned Soldiers’ Miniature Rifle Club fired the seventh match of the Club Championship and Handicap senes on Monday. There was a good attendance of members, and, as the competition is now in its final stages, interest was keen.. Only the first 15 in the aggregate qualify for the final. The results were as follows;
Instead of the weekly shoot on Monday evening, the club will entertain the members of Speight's Miniature Rifle Club at the Returned Soldiers’ Club at billiards and snooker. , , Taking the aggregate of the best five shoots in the seven matches fired for the Club Championship, and with only one more match to be fired to finish the series, it is interesting to note that D. Marr and J. Judson are again playing a final duel. W. Meikle is well up, although he had to give way to Judson on the last shoot. 0. L. Holden (present club champion) is making a good recovery, and should be well uj in the final. R. Bowie is onlv four points behind the top scorers, and should finish well. Progress report: D.
