BRITISH AIR TRANSPORT

IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENT EXTENSION OF INDIAN LINE (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, September 20. (Received Sept. 21, at 5.5 p.m.) The International Air Traffic Association will hold its half-yearly conference in London next week, when 30 countries will be represented. Mr Woods Humphrey, managing director of Imperial Airways, will preside. National air transport companies are extending the work that is being done by private aeroplane owners in encouraging Continental touring. One of the important developments of British air transport is the extension of the Indian air lino to Calcutta, and thence next month to Rangoon. By Christmas it is hoped that the line will have been extended to Singapore, and then the final link between England and Australia will remain for the dominion to complete.
