HOLY MEN ATTACKED
STONED AND LEFT FOR DEAD INCIDENT AT LUCKNOW. CALCUTTA, September 20. Fakirs suspected of kidnapping children at Lucknow were chased for a mile till they were exhausted, when an angry mob attacked and stoned them and left them for dead on the roadside. One crawled to a railway station, where he attempted to board a train. Ho was taken to hospital, where he died. Others succumbed while en route to hospital.
REASON FOR THE ATTACK.
CALCUTTA, September 20.
The attack on four itinerant holy men at Lucknow was due to rumours that they were kidnapping children for the purpose of human sacrifice.
