BAND OF HOPE

The monthly meeting of the Kensington Band of Hope was held on Tuesday evening, when the Rev. J. M. Simpson presided over the largest attendance of adults and children of this session. A very enjoyable programme of instrumental, vocal, and elocutionary items was given by the children of the Band of Hope, with the assistance of the following South Dunedin friends: —Violin selections by Miss Eva Judd: mouth organ and accordion solos, Mr Moore; musical saw, Mr Carey; mandolin solo, Mr MTvenzie; cornet solo, Mr Carey; pianoforte duet, Mesdames Stevens and Bayliss; vocal solo, Mrs Stevens; duet, Mesdames Stevens and Jackson; and speciality dances, Misses Murdoch and West. The speaker of the evening was Mrs Peart, and her talk was much appreciated.
