A British subject was recently arrested on board ship at Arica, in Chili, at the request of the Bolivian police, who charged him with counterfeiting postage stamps. The value of the stamps mentioned in the charge was over 1,000,000 Bolivianos (nominally £75,000). One or the heaviest bounties ever offered by a Government for the extermination of any number of pests was recently advertised by Ontario. The Government, in trying to be rid of wolves, has been paying £5 for each pelt, but smugglers have been bringing the pelts from Quebec and Manitoba, so the bounty haa been reduced.
