TROPICAL HURRICANE

HEAVY LOSS OF LIFE MANY BODIES RECOVERED. MEXICO CITY, September 18. (Received Sept. 19, at 10 p.m.) The death toll from Friday’s tropical hurricane mounted to-night to 135 as swollen streams receded and troops recovered 45 more bodies in San Luis Potosi and 21 in Tampico. A message from Newbern, North Carolina, states that 15 are dead, many missing, hundreds of homeless, and property loss of millions of dollars, were listed to-night as the north Carolina coast counted the cost of the hurricane on Friday and Saturday. Many email communities are almost wholly desolate, lacking food and shelter.
