FORESTERS

At the fortnightly meeting of Court Woodlands Pride the Chief Ranger, Sis. E. Marks presided, and was supported by a full staff of officers. There was a good attendance of members and a large amount of business was transacted. The secretary reported that the last social held in the Embassy Salon had been a great financial success, and presented a statement of receipts and expenditure, which confirmed the report. An invitation was accepted from Court Pride of Dunedin to a social and dance. Court Pride of the Leith wrote intimating that the sixty-ninth anniversary of that court would be held on the evening of September 21, and enclosed complimentary tickets. The chief ranger and sub-chief ranger were appointed to represent the court at the celebrations. Court Enterprise wrote inviting all officers and members to attend a meeting on October 3, the occasion being an “ Irish Evening.” It was decided to accept the invitation and attend officially. The secretary reported that three sisters had suf-

fered a bereavement in the loss of their mother during the week, and that a letter of sympathy had been forwarded on behalf of the court. Correspondence from the United Otago District was read rela, tive to the forthcoming centenary celebrations at Easter, 1934. Four members were initiated during the meeting and nominations of four others were received. The nomination of officers for the ensuing year and the nomination of delegates for the next annual conference were proceeded with.
