HEALTH OF EX-SOLDIERS

FREE MEDICAL SERVICE DETAILS OP CHRISTCHURCH SCHEME. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, September 19. Free medical service has now been arranged for those returned soldiers who, while not eligible for the war disability pension, can trace the cause of failing health at the present time back to their active service. The arrangement, which is between the Christchurch Returned Soldiers’ Association and a large proportion of the medical men of the city, comes into effect immediately. It is stipulated that any soldier availing himself of free medical service shall undertake to _ pay all or any part of the medical services rendered if he receives direct financial benefit, either by being subsequently granted a pension, having an existing pension increased, or through a grant from a fund operating in the interests of distressed soldiers.
