VETERINARY RESEARCH
AUSTRALIAN CONFERENCE NEW ZEALAND LAGGING BEHIND. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, September 19. A warning that New Zealand, in view of Australia's up-to-date equipment and large force seated throughout the country, might shortly be left behind in the search for veterinary knowledge, was sounded by Mr C. S. M. Hopkirk, officer in charge of the veterinary laboratory at Wallaceville, who returned by the Manama to-day after attending the Australian Veterinary Conference at Canberra. Mr Hopkirk said that, at the same time, Australian research could not altogether thrust New Zealand work and results into the background. Many problems of real interest to the Dominion were discussed at the conference, he said, and the information he had gained would be of considerable value. The Sydney Veterinary School, ho added, was supplying a large number of graduates for training for her own departments and for entry into practice.
