RUGBY FOOTBALL

TO THE EDITOR. Sir—l ■would like to express my appreciation of the fine showing made here on Saturday by the Otago football team as a whole, ami particularly by the full-back, J. Taylor. The impression he made upon the spectators may be bulged from the fact that a section of those in the stand paid him the unusual compliment of giving him three cheers when he came off at half time. The 10,000 spectators who attended the game were very much surprised to learn on Monday that he had missed selection for the South Island team. Either the selectors have made a mistake or Granger is something extraspecial in the way of a full-back.—l am, e tc.. M. A. Tait. Wellington, September 11. Other Letters to the Editor appear on page 6.
