(From Our Own Correspondent.) BALCLUTHA, September 12. FIRE AT INCH CLUTHA. Early yesterday morning the dwelling of Mr D. E. Weir, of Inch Clutha, was destroyed by fire. Mr Weir was living in the house alone at the time. In his opinion the fire originated in the kitchen chimney. The dwelling was insured with the Standard Insurance office for £225. PERSONAL. Mr Rendell, the new headmaster for Owaka District High (who comes from Wellington district), is expected to take up his duties at Owaka to-morrow. BENEFICIAL RAIN. Mild rain commenced to fall last night, ceased in the early morning, and recommenced about noon to-day. Immense good will result to the young grass after the droughty spell of the past few weeks.
