THE OTAGO FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l should like "Bright Times” to show me how there are going to be any brighter times for the Mosgiel Club or any other clubs which are being treated as the Mosgiel Club is in regard to their engagements. We Soccer supporters in Mosgiel are trying to do our utmost to foster the game, and I may tell “Bright Times” that this cannot be done when a club is allotted only four home matches in one season. The method seems to be, “ Live, horse, and you’ll get corn.” “ Bright Times ” does not seem to be satisfied with the conduct of the Mosgiel players. I may inform him that except for the occurrence of an ordinary foul or penalty not one of the Mosgiel players has been cautioned for the last three years. I would remind him, also, that the Otago Football Association has overlooked nothing but the match engagements. The Mosgiel Club has four grades in the competitions, and all four were playing in town on Saturday last. Perhaps that is how “Bright Times” likes to see the Otago Football Association studying the Mosgiel Club. Good management, isn’t it? I take it. from his letter, that “ Bright Times ” is not a member of the Mosgiel Club. If, however, he was a true “ Soccerite ” and true Mosgielite. he would be a member of the Mosgiel Club. I have my doubts whether he is either of the two. Though the Mosgiel Club hag its own ground it was secured by no efforts of his. I could give him a great deal more information as to how the Mosgiel Club is run, and it cannot be run without money. —I am, etc., Bob. Hutton. Mosgiel.
