DUNEDIN. The Dunedin Club turned out for its weekly run at the St. Clair Baths, where a good attendance was present. The pack, under the whistles of the captain and deputy-captain, ran along the beach track to St. Kilda, and thence on to the Tomahawk road. This wag followed past the cemetery and up to the Glencairn Hall. From here the course led across country until Smaill's farm was reached. Once on the road again a steady pace was maintained for about a mile. The pack again indulged in some good cross-country work just below the-monument. The trail was set for homewards from here and, coming down the hill, the runners had a hard job to keep their feet owing to the greasy nature of the paddocks. From the top of the hill at the cemetery some of the pack started a non-stop run home. The pack left at intervals until Ferguson and Storer started from scratch. When St. Kilda was reached the order was:—Drumm, Healy, Sturgeon, and Ferguson. At the finish, after a fast sprint, the order was:— Drumm first, with Ferguson second, and Healy and Sturgeon next. The course commenced from the baths and followed Fraser’s road to the Kaikorai tramshed, where the competitors tui’ned to the right, proceeding along the Valley road to Ellis’s flock mills. From here the course led across country to Fraser’s Gully, and thence to the road, which was followed down to the baths. The limit man, J. Robertson, set off at a fast pace, but faded badly after covering a mile, at the completion of which distance the back markers were moving up. Some of the limit men lost a considerable amount of time negotiating the fences, and at the end of a mile E, Hastie was leading, with J. Mann second and R. Janies (bird. Coming on to the road, J. Mann displaced E. Hastie, and H. Pearce filled third place. _ This order was unchanged to the finish, which was as follows:—.!. Mann (55sec) 1, E. Hastie (Infill 55sec) 2, H. Pearce (lniin 30sec) 3. The Fivemile course commenced from Onslow House, along the Tahuna road, turning into Cavell street, then into Gilfillau street, through to Bowen street, down Queen’s drive, along Victoria road, past the Battery, thence up the beach trad: towards the Anderson’s Bay Cemetery gates. Here the road was followed back to the sand gate, thence over the sandhills, up Norman street, crossing into the paddock behind the Tainui School, and coming out on to the Tahuna road once more, eventually finishing opposite the Bungalow Tea Rooms, Moving away to a slow start, the runnerg were well bunched for some distance, with R, Sivertsen leading by 50 yards. The pace was extremely slow until Gilfillan street was reached, when W. Lancaster began to move up. At the Bungalow Tea Rooms I. D. Craig moved up to the front, but quickly fell back again. Prom here the pace was better, and on turning into the beach track C. A. Broad and L. R. M’Millan had drawn away from the field, with W. Mercer, who had been tailing the field, coming up to the front bunch very fast. There were many changes in the long run to the cemetery gates. M’Millan held a slight lead on Craig and W. Lancaster, these having opened up a, break of some hundreds of yards. C. A. Broad headed the next bunch. On striking the sand stretch of the Junior Cross-country course M’Millan was labouring a good deal, after having made the pace for so long, and Craig and Lancaster passed him on the downhill stretch. Coming on to the road Craig led by 20 yards from Lancaster, and romped home an easy winner, with W. Lancaster second, L. R. M’Millan 20 yards further back third. E. Meggett was fourth, C. A.
