MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING
A GRADE CHAMPIONSHIP. Another round of the A Grade Championship matches being complete, a progress report on the present positions of the teams and leaders in the individual championships in both grades is as follows: — A GRADE TEAMS’ CHAMPIONSHIP.
SOUTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. (Pee United Press Association.) TIMARU, August 6. The South Island Miniature Rifle Championship meeting was held at Timaru on Saturday. There was a record entry, a feature being the number of ladies competing. Three tied for first place in the Championship—W. Bradshaw (Oamaru), W. T. Taylor (Pleasant Point), and L. Carlisle (Cashmere) —with 159 each. In the shoot-off Taylor scoi-ed the possible, winning the Championship. The Ladies’ Championship also resulted in a tie between Miss Taylor (GlenUi) and Miss Greig (Claremont). In the shoot-off Miss Greig won. The South Island Teams’ Championship resulted in a tie between Timaru A and Ford Motors (Christchurch), each scoring 391. Glenavy A was hext with 390. The winners will be bracketed as joint champions. -
