HAWES BEATS FRANKLIN (Peb United Pbess Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 2. P. Hawes (Christchurch), 8.8, defeated J. Franklin (Gisborne), 8.13, on points in a 12-round boxing bout. It was one of the brightest bouts seen in New Plymouth for a very long time.
