ROTARY CONVENTION

GIFT FROM WELLINGTON SILKEN BANNER WITH EMBLEM. BOSTON (Massachusetts), June 29. The International Rotary Convention to-day received into its perpetual possession a silken banner bearing the emblem of the Rotary Club of Wellington, New Zealand. It was presented by Mr T. C. List, who said he hoped that it would symbolise the bond of friendship between Rotarians in this land and the Dominion. Rear-admiral Byrd was called to the platform, and pledged himself on his next Antarctic expedition to name, in honour of New Zealand Rotarians, some part of that continent “ Little New Zealand.” MESSAGE TO THE CONFERENCE. BOSTON, June 29. (Received July 1, at 0.15 a.m.) The Rotary International cabled to the London Conference expressing the hope that the work of the conference would be crowned with success. Mr Frank Milner, New Zealand, in the course of an address, declared that the school teachers of the world ought to he nationally, instead of secfcionally, minded.
