GIANT GROPER

LIFTED BY SIX MEN. An interesting exhibit at the show at Maryborough, in Queensland, recently, was that of the local fish industry, in which a great variety of denizens of Wide Bay waters were included. A feature of the display was a giant gropor weighing 3cwt, which was caught by Mr Ernie Hume, on the City reach of the Mary River. The monster swallowed a catfish which was caught on a bream line, and Mr Hume had some difficulty in s.'curing tackle to land his catch, which took sii men to lift on a lorry.
