THE NEW ZEALAND TEAM DEFEATED IN LAST MATCH (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY, June 28. (Received June 28, at 10 p.m.) The New Zealand Association football team played the Inst match of its tour to-day against a strong suburban team from Gladesville and Ryde, which won by 7 goals to 2. The teams were as follows: — New Zealand. Gerrard; Stone, Graham ; Chapman, Christie, Stenhouse; Kay, Kershaw, Groves, Blackie, Barton. Gladesville-Ryde.—Ward; Burke, Viegal; Robinson, Davis, Black; Carrig, Fallowfield, Buttle, Price, O'Toole. The local team opened the scoring, Buttle netting with a hot shot. The tourists equalised immediately when Kershaw got a penalty kick. Buttle was again prominent with tricky footwork, eventually scoring. At half time the score was: Gladesville 2, New Zealand 1. The second half was a walk-over, the local team being too clever. The rout started when Graham accidentally netted for Gladesville. Buttle, O'Toole, Carrig and Price, carrying all before, them, scored before the final whistle, Stenhouse being the only successful New Zealander, netting after nice work by Kay. Kershaw played on the left wing during the last' 20 minutes and Kay played in the centre.
