WRESTLING
WIN FOR "WHISKERS " BLAKE. (Per United Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH. June 28. "Whiskers" Blake beat Jack Patterson in a sensational wrestling bout at Hawera, the referee awarding a penalty fall against Patterson in the seventh round for repeatedly disregarding his cautions. Patterson's main offence was swinging on Blake's beard. Each had scored a fall, but Patterson was lasting better. It was a willing contest, tempers being frayed from the outset.
