ALL SAINTS' CHURCH
MEETING OF PARISHIONERS The annual meeting of parishioners of All Saints' Church was held last night. There was a large attendance, and the chair was occupied by the Rev. W. Hardy Johnson. 1 ANNUAL REPORT. Mr C.' Stanley Smith moved the adoption of the report and balance sheet. He remarked that they began the year with a deficit of £167 and finished, with a deficit of £l7l, an increase of only £4—a very s'atisfactory state of affairs in the present times. They were much indebted to the*hob. treasurer (Mr G. D. Wright) for that result. There was some money in hand at present which, if it had been included in the accounts, would have shown a credit balance. The motion was seconded and agreed THE YEAR'S WORK. In reviewing the year's work, the chairs man said that by reducing stipends and expenditure on the one hand and by generous additional giving on the other the bad times had been weathered safely. He expressed his thanks to those who had been helpers during the year in the work of the church, and mentioned the names of parishioners who had passed away, including Mrs Margaret HOpcraft, Mies Hitchcock, Mrs Macassey, Mrs J. M. Ritchie, Miss Emily Nutt, and Mr F. W. Warman. He added that in the Sunday School the number of scholars Was increasing, and made reference to the Girls' Club, the Boy Scouts, the Ladies' Guild, and other bodies connected with the church. He thanked the clergy who had helped him during the year, especially Archdeacon Whitehead, the Rev. W. R. CurzOn-Siggers, and the Rev. F. Irwin. OFFICERS OF THE PARISH. The election Of officers of the parish resulted as follows: —Church wardens, Messrs G. R. Ritchie and C. Stanley Smith; vestrvmen —Messrs C. Grater, Paul Evans, F, W.Mitchell, T. W. Robinson, Dr Russell Ritchie, A. L. Swan, F. Whinan, J; E. Wingfield. Dr Roland Fulton, Sir James Allen, M. Warman, and C. Berry; hon. treasurer, Mr G. D. Wright; hon. secretary to the vestry, Mr W.-'J. Strong; hon. auditor, held over; synodsmen, Messrs G. R. Ritchie and C. Stanley Smith. VOTES OF THANKS. On the motion of Mr C. R. Allen, votes of thanks were accorded Mr A. W. Lilly (organist and choirmaster) and the choir. Mr Lilly thanked the meeting for the vote, and said he could not do his work without the hearty co-operation of the members of the choir. Supper was served, and a social hour was spent.
