ASTRAEA REACHES SYDNEY. SYDNEY, June 26. (Received June 27, at 0.30 a.m.) After a leisurely flight from Brisbane in crisp sunshine the Astraea reached Sydney this afternoon, when a crowd of 1000 people was impressed with the graceful landing of 'the 1 largest machine which has ever visited Australia. Major Brackley and his party were enthusiastically welcomed, and Major Brackley was compelled to make a speech, in which he expressed admiration for the beauty of the .coastal scenery and wonderful scope which this country affords for flying. He added that it was apparent that the people were thoroughly airminded when they would turn out in such large numbers to witness the Astraea's arrival. He felt quite sure that everybody was aware of his mission and hoped soon to see a regular air service between England and Australia. An escort of a dozen local aeroplanes which accompanied the giant Astraea over the city were competely dwarfed in size.
