At a meeting of the Management Committee, of the South Otago Rugby Football Sub-union (Mr R. The business occupied about three hours, and was taken in camera. Sixteen witnesses were heard, and after the matter had been fully discussed the following resolution was carried: —"That the attack on Jackman was unjustified, and that Wybrow be suspended for three years."

REFEREES' ASSOCIATION FORMED A deputation from the referees of South Otago waited on the union. Mr G. H. Mitchell notified that the referees had decided to form an association, and with the consent of the union wished to join up with the New Zealand Association. As this season had advanced so far they did not wish to go to the expense this year, but asked that the affiliation should go through next season. The association had elected officers, himself as president, Messrs Watson and Marshall vice-presidents, and the Rev. F. J. Handy as secretary. It was their intention to hold meetings when the union Manage' ment Committee met so as to save expense. If there were no further meetings of the committee till seven-a-side day they intended to meet that night. At their meeting they had discussed several rules, and as a result some misunderstandings had been cleared up and more uniformity in rulings would result in future. At their next meeting lectures would be given by -Messrs Watson and Handy on different phases of the game". —The president congratulated the referees on the step they had taken, wished them success, and said he could assure them that the union would give all the assistance posr sible.
