CAMP FOR WOMEN

NEW YORK, June 9,
The flifet Federal unemployment camp for fccmen and girls is being established at Bear Mountain Park, under a scheme prepared by Mrs Roosevelt and Miss Frances Perkins, Secretary of Labour. The camp will accommodate 300, who will receive five dollars (£1 at par) a week, paid by the Federal Government to the State Relief Administration. For each 10 girls there will be a counsellor, paid 15 dollars (£3) a week. Only able-bodied girls and women who are not married will be accepted. Besides the routine of camp duties, they will be given vocational training.
