BOXING
CHAMPIONSHIP CONTEST All arrangements have nOw been com pleted for the double professional .bill to be staged at His Majesty’s Theatre on Monday night by the Otago Boxing Association, and most interest will centre, of course, in the middle-weight contest between Bert Lowe (Dunedin)-, and George M’Ewan (Invercargill). In view of his win against Tom Croft, Lowe may go out as favourite for .the title bout,; but those who have seen M’Ewan working out recently state that he has been showing his old form, and Invercargill enthusiasts expect him to give Lowe the fight of his life. It should be a close and interesting contest, full of action from start to finish, and as both men are clever and willing fighters some fast and vigorous boxing may be looked for.; The supporting contest will be between Charlie Buckley and Dave Richardson, of Timaru, and as the latter is a well-, performed fighter this should also provide' a good match. Particulars are advertised in this issue.
