THE OTAGO FARMERS’ UNION

ro THE EDITOR Sir, —Mr James Wood, in a letter in Friday’s issue of your paper, says that he is writing off his own bat. Hardly anyone but himself would dream of putting unemployed men on Otanomomo Swamp. I see no greater anomaly in being a member of the Farmers’ Union and acting on the Mortgagors’ Relief Commission than there is in Mr Wood acting as secretary of the Clutha branch of the Farmers’ Union and writing to the press in the way he does. It does seem inconsistent on the part of Mr Coates to favour a limit of the export of dairy produce while he advocates small holdings to increase production. —I am, etc.. Fair Deal.
