MAORI SINGERS

The Dominion-wide popularity of the Methodist Maori Choir, which is under the direction of the Rev. A. J. Seamer, is due almost equally to the outstanding talent and personality of its members and their wonderful naturalness on the platform. Not only do Europeans flock to hear this choir, but the greatest authorities on Maori lore and music amongst the Native chiefs are also just as eager. When the choir is tonring Maori districts it is common for eminent Maori chiefs to follow the performers _ from place to place and thus show their appreciation. Dunedin citizens are fortunate in that, although so far from centres of Maori population, they may witness at the Town Hall on Monday night a full presentation of Maori customs and music.
