REPORTS FROM NORTHERN . CENTRES. (Special to Daily Times.) AUCKLAND, March 21. A moderate northerly wind and cloudy, unsettled conditions were followed by a heavy shower late in the afternoon and threatening conditions during the evening. The barometer fell after mid-day, and now registers 29.70 in. WELLINGTON, March 21.

Light rain, driven by a strong north wind, fell in Wellington practically all day. Towards evening heavy rain fell, which later eased. CHRISTCHURCH, March 21.

The weather was very hot to-clay, with a north-west wind and passing clouds. The temperature reached 57.2 degrees, making it the hottest day of the summer. The previous highest temperature was on Sunday, when it was one-tenth of a degree lower than to-day.
