BURGLAR IN SHOP

MANAGER STRUCK ON HEAD INTRUDER MAKES HIS ESCAPE. (Per United Press Association.) MASTERTON, December 14. Upon entering Yates’s grocery store at Eketahuna to-night about 8.30 the manager, Mr Charles William M'Lauchlan, was struck a heavy blow on the head by an intruder who was in the premises, and rendered unconscious. The intruder made his escape, and is reported to have sped away in a motor car waiting outside the shop. Mr M'Lauchlan was attended by Dr Simmers and removed to his home. His injuries are not considered serious. No stock was taken.
