PROGRESS OF NAPIER

WORK OF RESTORATION COMMENDATION BY CHIEF JUSTICE. (Per United Press Association.) NAPIER, December 13, Warm praise of the progress which Napier is making towards a complete recovery from the earthquake disaster was expressed by the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) when opening the Hawke’s Bay Adjustment Court at Napier this morning. Voicing the pleasure felt by himself and his associates, Messrs L. 0. H. Tripp and H. J. von Haas't, at the change which had taken place since their last visit his Honor said: “It is four months since Mr von Haast and I were last in Napier, and six months since Mr Tripp was here, and all are as delighted as we are astonished at the progress which has been made in the restoration, and not only the restoration but also the beautifying, of this fine little town of yours. The improvements which have been made on the waterfront are attractive and delightful, and * the buildings which are being erected would be a credit to any town in New Zealand.”
