VICTORIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS MIXED DOUBLES WINNERS. MELBOURNE, December 13. (Received Dec. 13, at 9.30 p.m.) At the Victorian 'lawn tenuis' championships R. Dunlop’ and. Miss J. Harti.gan won the Mixed Doubles from W. Allison and Mrs Van Ryu. by default. Allison, tjie American captain, protested, and wanted the match to be played today, but the referee disallowed the protest.l SECOND TEST MATCH. AUSTRALIAN TEAM CHOSEN. MELBOURNE, December 13. (Received Dec. 13, at 10 p.m.) Australia’s team, for the second test match; is:— J. Crawford (captain),, H. ! Hopman, C. S. Spronle, and V. M'Grath, with A. Quist emergency. THE "SUBSIDISED PLAYER" RULES TO BE AMENDED. LONDON, December 12. The annual meeting .of the Lawn Tennis Association elected Sir Samuel Hoard president. Mr H, Monekton moved that the rules be amended in order to make a “subsidised player” ineligible for the committee, or to compete in a tournament, except at the national championships. He said that there was no use burking the fact that there was much insidious subsidising. They wanted it brought into the open. The meeting accepted the proposal. Mr Monekton then proposed that competitors in tournaments, except the national championships, should make a declaration that they were not directly or indirectly under an obligation to further the business of any firm, or were receiving financial assistance, rebate,, or hospitality. The meeting agreed to an alternative proposal that notice to the* same effect, as 'the declaration should be inserted in the entry forms, except those for the national championships.
