THE YACHT BETH

STORMY PASSAGE TO NORFOLK VESSEL SEVERELY TESTED. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, October 10.. After having been, bove-tb in a gdlo for 84 hours, the launch Beth, which left Auckland on September 19 for Adelaide under the charge of her owner, Mr T, H. Webb, arrived at Norfolk Island on Sunday night. A cablegram received by Mrs Webb said that the trip from Whangaroa, which was left on Sunday, October _2, had been a rough one all the way with a succession of gales which had compelled the launch to remain hove-to for 84 hours. The little vessel had been given a severe testing and had behaved splendidly all through. Mr Webb, cabling his satisfaction with its performance, said that had the weather been good they would have reached Norfolk Island last Wednesday.
